That there is no perfect defense. There is no protection. Being alive means being exposed; it’s the nature of life to be hazardous—it’s the stuff of living.
So it happened after all. I wonder if the spinned off will be able to survive independently.
Surprised to see them to reject those massive EU subsidies.
I was surprised to see that their negotiations broke down because of price/cost as opposed to technology (unproven node and to my knowledge intel doesn’t really have any experience with semi-custom x86 business).
Yeah, NAS is meant to be on 24/7.
I actually wish more games supported SSAA.
That being said I play heavily CPU-bound economic strategy games where a good GPU can handle the massive framerate hit from SSAA even at 1440p.
I’ve been trying desktop Linux on/off and since 2003.
While it offers a lot over Windows, app compatibility (games, but also MS Office and random business applicstions) has always stopped me from moving over.
However, with W11 it looks like I will have to make the jump once they stop supporting W10 (I speculate they will extend the mainstream support window for another 1-2 years).
That’s true. But it adds up.
And it is a small batch project, even outside of IT, small batch is always pricey.
It seems that the mechanical keyboard alone is a large part of the cost.
I do agree this is a very niche product.
and already ahead of intel
Source? Ahead in what? Compared to which device? Gaudi?
I doubt they found a magical solution (at least at this point). Their QLC might be the best in the industry, but they would be doing much more PR/marketing if they found a breakthrough.
May they will, maybe they won’t. We will find out.
But lack of independent benchmarks even at this point is not a good sign.
Not mention that many in the west underestimate the “disincentives” from such state mandated programs which create opportunities for self-enrichment and complacency.
Not sure how competitive they will be.
A quick search doesn’t reveal any independent benchmarks (I don’t speak Chinese though), and data provided by Biren itself isn’t particularly exciting.
There is also a matter of incentives and shielding from competitive pressure due to state mandate.
one of the top education videos on the front page is by an occultist about how the wrong witchcraft caused 9/11, another is how the vaccines are going to start killing babies, etc.
This is actually pretty funny. I am glad I am staying away from Odysee.
In general, I am rather skeptical of “free speech absolutism” and what have you, comes off a little parochial to me.
Insane value for $40 (even though this does not include tax). The Peerless Assassin 140 trades blows with the Dark Rock Elite which goes for around $100 where I live.
While the Peerless Assassin 140 is not currently available, the 120 version goes for about $55 - $60 (tax and import duties are included).
Those are some impressive single thread numbers for a smartphone CPU.
You get that a lot with these types of articles.
They got to make sure to keep the money from the CCP flowing.
Mind you, I am not making any kind of judgement around the success (or lack of thereof) of the CCP’s chip investment program. Either way, there are many grifters in China who most definitely trying to get some money off these programs.
Well for e-ink, it would be longer battery life and decent contrast.
I probably wouldn’t go over USD $200 for ~7 inch device.
I guess it’s my own expectation that an e-ink device should be noticeably cheaper.
They don’t have photos of Zhixiaobao UI/UX, but an “Iron Man” style UI sounds like a horrible choice in terms of usability.
It looks nice for a movie, but they don’t actually need to use the UI in the movie.
An appealing device, but for that price I would rather get a regular Android tablet from Samsung.
It is very likely.
