It would be nice to make them say it, though. Every little bit counts!

For a while I thought being clear about “hey I don’t think you’re doing this on purpose” was gunna be helpful but it turns out that people will still take everything as a personal attack anyway!

I think they hear that stuff and their PTSD from HR speak and people not saying what they fuckin’ mean kicks in. “Of course this is informal (and also I’ll bring it up to deny you a raise)” or whatever else to that effect in their lives.

And sometimes we do fuck it up and think we’re being nice and honest but could probably dial it back a little.

They also forget that there are things not required when it comes to doing things as a hobby; it’s not just doing the hobby more and getting paid.

Like, I do all the work on my own car, help my friends with stuff so they can save money, and enjoy modifications(when I can afford them which is basically never). People say “oh maybe you should have been/should try out being a mechanic. Yea, and now I gotta deal with the 99.9% of drivers who are painfully ignorant about the thing they spent tens of thousands of dollars on, do endless and boring oil and brake changes, and when I have an interesting job I gotta do it quick enough to not destroy my entire reputation or lose money on the quoted time. And then there’s all the paperwork!

No thanks, I’ll stick to my own driveway and taking teaching my friends new skills as payment.

If you’re gunna simp for something you could at least have the self-respect to choose a thing that isn’t openly unstable dogshit.

I know plenty of people with social issues that try to support others instead of being whiny conservatives and shit. Social issues are important to consider in how to address a lot of that stuff but the people themselves, at some point, need to take responsibility for acting out like they do.

Right but if Windows is now becoming a problem then it’s a start. And so many software developers I know use MacBooks for their job and say that they’re just better for the work. Microsoft is hoping that the fear of change means they can do whatever they want, if they even have any thoughts in their thick heads at all that is, and don’t seem to realize that at some point even the most devoted users will have to face the fact that there are better options.

Fuck Windows, it’s such an ass product that’s only selling point right now that some key products don’t work on anything else simply because the developers of them don’t want to do the work and not because it has some magic sauce that a Mac or Linux machine doesn’t.
