It’s all I ever wanted and seemingly the only thing I can never have even since childhood. I move every 2 years on average and since adulthood that’s been from basement apartment to basement apartment and now to a garage with no end in sight… I finally got to the point where I could consider buying a house and then COVID, WFH, and the invesestment parasites all blew up at once and took that away from me… I gave up on the relationship bit years ago.

Honestly it would be an open and shut case here in the US.

Literally never because they always have some bullshit way to legitimize their actions. It is fraud in the colloquial usage of the word, but not legally if they have specific arguments like “we were just referring to previous (lowest they could find) turnout numbers to save the taxpayers money!”

That would cost them more so it’s a non-starter. In manufacturing you’re not a human, you’re another tool. You don’t consider the wellbeing or happiness of your tools. :(

On top of the issue you mentioned, and along with another comment referring to machine operators, the capital class sees us as meat machines, not people. Especially machine operators, even in my own job some people refer to them as button pressers… I’m in a psudo-supervisor type position but I’m not viewed as any more than a meat machine either… We’re “undeserving” of any proper treatment because we “don’t create value” we’re just “necessary” like power is necessary.

This is only for white collar work. Every time I see this there is never any consideration for blue collar work. Factories would benefit from seven day work weeks, more time producing not less.

Not that I want it at all… We tried to argue for just 4 days weeks in the summer when it gets to be 95° and like 75° dew point and they still said “absolutely not, we need to ship 5 days a week. We have guys doing overtime why would we do less?”

Just want to back this one up: as someone rapidly approaching 40 who never loved himself, if anything absolutely loathes himself, repeating to yourself how absolutely horrible of a failure you are and how completely and utterly undeserving of anyone’s love you are daily will cement itself in your head as absolute fact.

I’d have to imagine most of the people calling them “tech savvy” are just seeing them on phones/tablets which are mostly “dumbed down” hardware in comparison to what you can do with a PC. There isn’t much to know about operating a phone or tablet.
